Sea Frost's DC 5000 is designed to refrigerate boats equipped with large battery banks and alternative energy systems for battery charginh. It will freeze holdover plates rapidly and maintain thermostatically controlled temperatures by operating on demand from battery power.
A directly coupled Leeson 1/2 h.p. permanent magnet motor and compressor drastically reduce the friction and noise common with belt-driven D.C. systems. The DC 5000 utilizes a coxial copper nickel condenser for maximum efficiens\cy, water jacketed housing to remove motor and compressor heat and a manual reset high pressure cut out switch that protects the compressor and remote water pump. Its lightweight, compact, one-peice design allows for easy installtion and full service access from one side.

The DC 5000 is powerful enough to run a three-plate, twin vlave refrigerator/freezer and may be combined with the Engine Drive and/or air cooled Shore Assist for hte ultimate in versatility and redundancy.
